Here are a few tips for you as I did alot of flea research and testing.

I'd put the yote in a plastic bag after I shot it immediately. Use a can of Raid House and Garden - shake it up well and spray a 5 second burst on the animal and seal it in the bag. Leave it over night. Your fleas ought to be dead.

Or just hang the animal away from you and your home and the fleas will leave once the animal has become cold. But if it where me I use the Raid!

Now on a side note - using the insecticide will not hurt the fur, ruin the pelt, and it will make it smell better because of the fragrance in the product.
