OK, I have a couple of questions...
On the 30-30, is there also a letter on the receiver by the lever (like there is on the 300 sav?)...based on the SN the 30-30 was built after 1951... I have never seen a 99 with both a straight lever and a pistol grip stock...very odd (oddly enough I couldn't find one online either, but I only did a quick search of google images). It's possible the stock is an after market stock...the lack of checkering has me curious as well as the combo of the pistol grip and straight lever...the stock just doesn't look right.
EDIT: THE 300 Sav. ........What exactly does it say on the barrel? How long is the barrel on the 300 Sav? Is there a brass counter on the left side of the rifle?
RR...there were many of the 99 A's and H's (and a few others I think) made with straight levers (400k and lower SN's I believe)...they are fairly rare (example:
