Default New to food plots...help

Just joined this forum, been hunting for the last 10 years.

Anyways, just got 55 acres of private land to hunt whitetails. I'm new to food plots and im looking to get into planting a few. I have a disc that i can hook onto my quad, and a seed spreading attachment.

The land i have has a perfect bedding area equipped with three streams on three different sides of the property. I have three places that i think would be good places to plant food plots. I've read a lot about fall and spring food plots and when the time is right to plant, but my problem is i have no clue what to plant, and how big the plots should be considering the property is only 55 acres. The three other boardering properties are all wooded lots which completes about a 300 square acre woodlot with 4 pastures and an area of pine trees.

My ideas for places to plant would be on the bottom of a powerline by a stream, on the other side of a powerline by a stream (about 300 yards from each other), and 1 on top in a section of the woodlot that is already cleared out. The deer activity on this property comes out of the bedding area and crosses the powerline.

Like i said im new to this and i really am not sure where to go from here with ideas on what to plant, where to plant, when to plant, how much to plant, how big of an area to plant ect.

I'm located in south eastern PA. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
