Shot this 10-pointer at around 7am this morning. He was headed towards one of my feed patches. After hitting him he ran back into the woods leaving only a few drops of blood. Had to get a friend with his dog to help me find him. As you might expect, he was headed towards water and when we found him dead around 10:30am. He had run about 300 yards but was in some thick woods and in a different direction than his blood trail had indicated he was heading. As for the lack of blood, since the deer was quartering away when I shot him, I had to hit him pretty far back. Because of the severe angle, the .300 win mag' s 200 gr Swift A-frame hit him hard and never exited. Anyway, what do you think?
