Despite the DIY factor, I estimate they'll wind up in the $900-1000 range (each) without sights/optics or a good trigger. Worth it? You decide!
1-9 is a good twist for a 223. My Bushmaster Varmiter has a 24" barrel with a 1-9 and my Ruger MKII 77 sporter has a 22" barrel with a 1-9, both shoot exceptionally well with everything I have ever shot in them , from 40gr. to 65gr. bullets.
