In process of finding uses for the 58cal cast Minie slugs
for shotgun shotwad and sabot use, you've seen where we
can use 58 cal in a Accutip type discarding 12ga sabot,
and in the 20ga BPI Commander shotwad. Well now we found
another real nice combo that has a good fit and is accurate,
the BPI 20ga CSD shotwad and the 54cal Minie bullets.
There are about 10 different 54cal slugs available and the
ones measuring .543" up to .550" work ok. I even can use
jacketed 550 magnum 600gr bullets in them. And 54cal
Great plains hollowbase muzzleloading bullet. The CSD wad is
longer than bullets so you can cut it to exact length
need for whatever bullet or slug you use.
I shot 3 shot group with a HB Great Plains into
3 inches at 30 yds from smoothbore barrel 20ga.Ed.
