Well Bushnell bought B&L and they adopted their Elite series and did away with the name. You can still find some B&L optics but they are get fewer each year. They simply bought B&L to get into the mid range line, something they missed out on for a period of time. I think when Bushnell bought B&L there quality and rep went up, they are now building some decent scope both in low and mid range. For a period you couldn' t give a bushnell scope away, they rested on their lorals and it cost them bigtime. With market share up, their name back & Bushnell have always played againist Tasco for affordable/low cost scopes, my guess is they bought them like any other company would to remove competition. You may see them keep the name of Tasco or they could just spin into a bushnell package, really up to the suits to decide. Tasco didn' t get the nickname " Trashco" for nothing. I would look at the banner, sportsman, legend series by bushnell before tasco. But hey its your money!
