Dont get caught up with HP a 1/3 hp grinder with a good transmission can out perfprm a 1hp with lousy cheap gearing. I would reccomend the Torey brand grinder we have sold these for about 10 years now and have had great response from our customers. The pan holds about 40lb of meat at a time and the grind rate is good with the large throat. Another thought would be to wait for a grocery store sale or an auction with food equipment and buy a full size commercial grinder 3hp or less and then just get a phase converter to run it on 220 single phase power.
