Default Marlin Model 60 ammo

I've had a Marlin model 60 for going on 25 years now. Shot several bricks of cheap 22 rounds through it in my teens and as you can imagine its dirty beyond belief inside actionwise (took decent care of barrel).

Couple questions
1) If I can ever get it clean what ammo would be cleanest?
2) Anybody have any experience with CCI Stingers either target and / or game?
3) Anybody know a quick way to get a thorough cleaning job done on the action?

Tried cleaning the action in my teens, but either my inexperience, or lack of patience, or a combination of the two prevented a good thorough cleaning.

Thinking about trying to resurrect this rifle and put an older Leupold on it for small game and targets.
