Well I just skinned and boned this bad boy out. It really was a perfect hit from the angle. Got both lungs. He had so much fat and tallow on him it was one of the toughest cutting jobs I' ve ever had. When I gutted him I was just pulling globs of it out. Being where it exited I' m sure some of it must have just plugged the hole. I took Len over and showed him where the deer ran...you could see every hop and where he fell. Not a drop of blood except where he landed. As I said, at the place he was shot there was just a blow out of blood. There was a sprayed puddle there about a foot and a half across like someone had taken a full glass and just threw it, and none from there on.

This was the first time I hunted this spot this year. Len has the hunting rights and I can' t go there without him. After it was all over he told me he' d been seeing a big one there. If I' d known I' d probably have waited. He says the two big 8s I saw are not the big one. Well, if any one of the 3 steps out he' s history. Len is taking me again Saturday.
