I had a terrible season. I was hunting in a new place with the property owner. He is also a hunter and has a number of folks who hunt on his land (there's enough to go around). Plenty of preseason sign around to make me optimistic
I spent 54+ hours in the woods and saw ONE deer--which was scared up by the property owner on a one man drive.
There's just too much ultra thick cover on his land for the deer to stay safe. The last day I helped with a drive after a fresh snowfall the night before. Not one of us saw fresh tracks--they were all locked down elsewhere.
We have antlerless-only season (4 days) coming up next week and I lined up a different place to hunt.
