By pointedly doing what you should know better than doing. As was posted earlier, just because you can doesn't mean you should.

I got to spend time with my family doing what I enjoy. That is a successful hunt to me, getting a deer is merely icing on the cake. I don't feel the need to shoot a deer every year.

I also know better than to use marginal equipment for a job such as this.

Second, leave the politics in the political thread. Where they belong.
Even a "smart liberal" should be smart enough to know that, doncha think?
