Got him on private land. The fellow I hunt on basically owns 1/2 of one side of a steep rocky mountain (ridge). It is very hard hunting but I am very happy to have private land to hunt. I have killed a 2.5 year old buck or had the opportunity every year we have been hunting it (4th season) and 3 years a go I missed a very large 3.5 to 4.5 year old buck. During the rut the hunting is pretty good but pre and post rut hunting is very tough.
