The only expereince I have personally with the 260 Rem. was a few year ago while mule deer hunting with a group of guys in eastern Montana. A youngster killed a fine 4x4 at about 275 with his 260 Rem. , Rem. Model 7. I have no clue what bullet that he was using. Personally I think that the 6.5 mm rounds such as this and the 6.5x55 SE are very good for medium game, though not popular in comparison to the "usual" deer cartriges.
