I think many things come into play... public land is earlier than private land due to people trampling around... usually getting in around 30 min before shooting light works well for me so I am not bored but gives me time to get settled. Deer move through my area right at first light so I need to be settled. If I am late (like I was Sunday) then I walk in when the does are walking through which isn't a good idea... but I learned their latest pattern for a strong S wind...
