It might not be obvious with the fur on, but if you look inside the cavity and skin the deer, it's very obvious.

If you put an arrow through a bullet hole, it won't make it look like an arrow kill. The bullet causes dead tissue (bloodshot meat) around the wound. Arrow is just a clean slice. You can't undo the bullet's damage post-mortem.
