i track a lot of deer and elk for other folks, usually at night. i use a high intensity light with a blue lens.

For daytime tracking where the grass has red color on it, a small spray bottle of peroxide comes in handy. If the red color is blood it will fizz.

Nothing beats a good tracking dog like the wirehaired dachshund a good friend owns.
