A co-worker has a Savage 99 in .300 Savage for sale. I have not seen the gun yet nor do I know what year it was built or even what he wants for it. All I know is that it belonged to his late father. Call me crazy but even knowing as little as I do about this particular gun I told him I would buy it. I have always wanted a classic lever action centerfire but never had any interest in calibers like the 30-30.
Has anyone tried the new 150 gr Hornady Superformance load for the .300 Savage? I would expect this new load to put the .300 in the same class as a "stock" .308.
