If you were to discuss this with a competition shooter most would tell you the same thing - do not use a product with Teflon in it. I would go one step farther and say in a muzzleloader - do not use a petroleum product in the bore at all - use a synthetic oil like Montana X-Treme, Slip 2000, or Ezzox and I am sure there are others.

And again after several years and using many different product - this is my opinion only. But you also have to remember I was one of those that used BB for years because of its abiltiy not to leave a sticky burned substance in the barrel. In fact still use it in my Trap chokes to reduce plastic fouling.
Understandable. I've also heard that Remoil causes the Crud Ring with 777 as well but I've never experienced that either. I would not say that I go through as many pounds of powder in a year as some of you guys, but 4 or 5 in a year is about normal for me. I think environment has more to do with it than people give credit for. i.e. humidity, altitude, heat vs cold ect.

I wouldn't go so far to say that Rem Oil ISN'T the problem, but with my experience with the product, if it happened to me, I wouldn't be suspecting the oil as the problem. Ironically enough, a couple years ago I helped a buddy out who was having this same problem with is Wolf and he used no oil in his gun at all.
