I don't think the black ice coating would ever chip off but I have seen where it has worn off over time, like in the breech area where you do a lot of scrubbing.
I like the non glare finish of the black ice and it does seem like the fouling wipes off of it really easy.
I agree, I was just thinking that if a person has a MR and wants to keep it even though it chipping, then this would be a better solution. I personally wouldnt keep the MR if it was doing what rafsob's is doing, But some seem to like it and at least this would be a better answer. Albeit a little expensive but a better choice . I'm pretty sure they have a tan color that would match nicely.
