Dave, did not see the second part of the question... as I think Muley indicated, the CVA plugs were all fashioned before the advent of BH. Western tried very hard to get them to change their design and as well as trying to get Lehigh Dave to build a plug for CVA to Western Specs.
One of the bigger problems as you already know is the filling of the flash channel with a hard carbon substance from shooting BH. European breech plugs have a very small flash channel 3mm as compared to most American plugs offering a 1/8" channel. Because of this constriction in the flash channel BH is not always totally reliable in either of these two types of plugs over and extended shooting session.
Will a new Accura shoot BH? yes! as long as you keep the plug clean.
Today, Western, BPI, and Ron are offering modified plugs to combat the problem. And of course you can make the modification yourself if you were to choose to do so.
