At Nutra Deer we constantly get asked... "If you feed PRO ANTLER deer feed from a free choice gravity feeder on a year around basis what kind of results can you get?" Customers also asked for proof of field testing. Well, here it is, a photo with dates that help prove supplemental feeding PRO ANTLER deer feed can aid in the development of a Whitetail deer's antlers during the Spring and Summer growing season.
From our local experience we are going to classify this deer as a
3.5 year old 4x4. This deer lives his life as a free range animal and we have monitored him at one of our properties since October 2011. This deer has been attending the 600 Boss Buck feeder and eating PRO ANTLER 20% Open Range deer feed since that time in October. The deer lives in a part of Oklahoma that isn't known for producing trophy deer. Locally, a very high deer density which translates to over browsing the most nutritious plants is quite common. The native plants selection in this area grow in semi infertile soil conditions. Historically this factor can produce sub standard levels of protein in deer browse. The high deer density and low nutritional factors combined, can keep deer from reaching their full genetic potential.
As the antler growing season comes to an end for us in 2012 this buck (that is still growing his velvet antlers) is boasting a well above average body weight and he proudly sports massive increases in antler score. I would like to add, 2012 has brought severe drought conditions to Oklahoma. The drought factor has taken a huge toll on this bucks already limited selection of quality native browse. The growing conditions in this bucks home range were well below average due to the drought. Further proof that a free choice supplemental feeding program that includes PRO ANTLER deer feed can take the peaks and valleys out of what mother nature throws at deer.
