advice needed
i am a newbie to this forum, so it may take a bit to get used to how this forum works. i figure the photography section is a good place to start. i'll explain why, but if anyone has suggestions of where the best place to post is, please do. i'll tell you about myself first.
my name is ben scott, and i live in kaukauna, WI. i am a hunter, but not die-hard. i'd like to get more involved with upland birds when i get a new dog(my lab abby is not doing so well lately) also not sure what the best gun would be. i'm shooting my g-pa's old single shot 20. i'm looking to get a good over under maybe in 12 or 16. anyhow.
i'm also into wildlife photography. this is why i'm putting this here first. i'm hoping those in wisconsin can help me out. my photo subjects are typically snakes. i know many do not like them, but i'm sure there are many who at least can appreciate them for being part of the whole picture. i'm looking to meet hunters in my state and surrounding states who may be willing to ID/take one picture of snakes seen while in the woods during the spring turkey hunts and early fall hunts. i'm helping create a database of reptile records throughout the country. this info is used to create accurate range maps, and species densities. the info is also used for the acquisition of lands to be protected for wildlife. these lands are always open to the public for hunting recreation. it's a win-win.
the forums dictate "hunting related threads" so i do not want to post in the midwest section, but these are the folks who can help.
any thoughts??
