Default Kid Scoped, looking for input

Last year, my 10 yr old girl shot her first buck. The angle was ackward but she has paid her dues for yrs, it was a good buck and a shot she could make. Unfortunately, after the shot, my heart was broke when i saw blood running down her face and the look of fear she showed. After calming her (she never cried), her excitement returned to the deer she harvested. I did all i could to celebrate her kill but was struggling with the injury and much guilt. When we got back, we cleaned her up and badaged her head. My daugther said she felt fine and upon closer inspection, we thought the cut wasn't too deep so we didn't take her to the doctor. This later proved to be a big mistake and by the time we realized the cut was deeper and worse than originally realized, it was late the next day and too late to properly stich.

Anyway, the reason I am writing, it has been almost a year and clearly she will have a meaningful scare on her forehead despite lots of bandaging and daily treatment with Mederma. Even with stiches, she would have had a scare but it will be worse based on our decision to not take her to the hospital but i can't change that at this point. I do struggle w/ guilt almost every day when i look at it, though she is doing fine with it at this age. I presume others here have experience with such things and might be able to tell me whether this is something cosmetic surgery can fix or if there are other options that might help. Just wondering what, if anything, that i can do at this stage to minimize the injury. I'm also hopeful my story serves as a reminder to be extra careful with their kids and scopes, and if it happens, get it treated. thx and sorry for the long post
