I have an old thunderhawk too and I tried Barnes X bullet sabots in it last year. It is a 54 cal and I am shooting 325 grain Xbullet sabots over 100 grains of tripple 7. It is extremely accurate with this load and completely deadly. I am also using a musket cap flame thrower nipple.
