Default RE: Sako 75 SS or TRG-S?

340 my TRG-S/Lazzeroni Warbird is going on her 4th season (was a first run from 1999) and the only trouble I have had with it is that deer season is' nt 12 months per year!!! I shoot the fastest and least accurate load from my Warbird, the 130 Xbullet at appx 3900-3950fps. After 3 boxes the groups tightened up to an even 1.5" . Thats as well as can be expected with that load and that was told to me by John Lazzeroni himself. I have some of his new 150 Lazerhead loads coming. This 150 Barnes is still " cruising along" at 3750ish fps but has shown groups of .5" ... Needless to say, I CANT wait to try them.

As for the recoil of the Warbird or the 30/378 they simply need muzzlebrakes, some practice and quality hearing protection (I bought a couple of GameEar IIs after a season of using muffs with my Warbird). I LOVE to shoot my Warbird (but yeah the $100 a box ammo is a byotch!), and thats a result of a KDF brake I had installed on it. I got a buddy to get a Savage/Lazzaroni Patriot lastyear and with 180s that lightweight lil jewel absolutely HAMMERS you each time you squeeze the trigger, MUCH more than my ' bird.

Since I got mine (my step-brother is a Lazzernoni dealer) just about everyone I hunt with is shooting either a Firebird, Warbird or Patriot and NO-ONE has had the first problem. And accuracy is SUPERB. One Firebird actually fired 10 shots into 10.5" at 1000yds! I also have a buddy who just got a custom Mark V in 30/378, but I have' nt heard yet how it performs. Either caliber is a THUNDER boomer and they are simply unmatched for longrange big gaming! I mean how much easier can it be than 3" high at 100yds, dead-on at 400yds and only 7" low at 500yds while still producing over 2k ftpds of energy at 500???

" Drop em where they stand!!!"
