It is a M77 hawkeye which has the 3 position safety and the new LC6 trigger. I didn't think they made a tang safety with the mauser type action. I'm sure the 3 position is ok just may take getting used to. I have owned remingtons for years now this will be my second ruger. the last one I had was a 300wm with the crazy stock ruger offered. I couldn't get used to the stock.lol
