I bought one new in 1980, love it, nothing wrong with the supplied bases I don't see how any base could be stronger than the supplied Ruger bases...

Now, is is a M-77 or a M-77 Mark II???

Or, does it have the tang safety or the 3-position???

If it has the tang safety the trigger can be adjusted, if it has the 3-position safety, take it out, throw it away and buy a decent trigger...
