RE: Getting smelled by deer
Have the same problem, but usually always try to play the wind. I use the totes pull over rubber boot. I find that wearing leather boots under the overshoes keep my feet warmer. Also a cheap cover scent is a bottle of water and some dirt. Make yourself a little mud puddle, tromp around in it to cover your boots and you have natural earth scent. They smell that all the time.
I was using raccoon urine and it seemed like they would eventually associate that with a human after they scented me. Plus I think the bottled stuff goes bad after a while.
