I say it all depends on two things:

Confidence in your shot, and probability of predators. If there are lots of coyotes around, then you have probably seen the posts about coyotes getting there first. Although it has never happened to me, i would hate it i know. If you think you made a good shot, get a couple people and head on out...jsut make sure to mark all the blood you find and dont walk on it, walk beside it...good luck!
