You might look at the Mossberg ATR or 4X4. I bought a Maverick (no frills ATR) in .270 and have been impressed with the accuracy of the rifle. It doesn't shoot as tight as my Sako L691, but for $168 it shoots very well (.75-1.4" 3 shot groups).
