Thanks guys I ended up with the 300 wsm in the Remington 700. I picked the short cause was told less recoil and the guy said if I didn't like it he would take it back and give me the win mag. I wanted the larger caliber for if I ever do draw that elk tag. I have a 270 win 70 ranger that I do use for deer to. The savage looked great to but talking with people it seems that I can build up the Remington a little easier. Thanks for the input once it comes in and I pick up a scope I'll post how it shoots.
Good choice, the wsm is a great round. If you use the right ammo or reload it, it can do what a win mag can if not better.
And for future reference, you can buy almost as many accessories for a savage you can a Remington, most of those parts don't require a gunsmith to change them though.
