Well shes shooting beautiful!!
Bad news, take a look at this picture just below the frame where it meets up to the stock. See that seam that looks like a thin line of camo? Keep in mind this picture was when i got it out of the box when it arrived.
Shooting today, I took one shot and reloaded, got set up for #2 and just had a hell of a time keeping the rifle steady on the lead sled. I didn't know what the heck was going on and was thinking my rest was loose or something. I checked over the gun and the stock wiggled around. The bolt that holds the stock on is under the recoil pad and you need a good long extension to get it out or tighten it. I tightened it snug and looked at the gun again and just wanted to throw up.
That "camo seam" was actually this once i snugged that stock bolt up. I think someone cracked it by over tightening it and then just backed it off looser so it would hide the obvious crack. Who knows for sure, I will call Traditions on Tuesday or so and get a new stock for it.
Double safety.
After I tightened the stock down I decided it was still fine to shoot and so i took 6 shots that all hit in a 1 1/2" group to the low right. Adjusted to clicks to the left, 2 more shots to make sure, and then 8 clicks up and a single shot. Probably will bring it down a few clicks though so its dead center.
A bit bummed on the stock but at least I know it will get replaced. Luckily I caught that first picture when I got it so we all know it was there before I started shooting it. Oh well! No reason to fuss over it, get it taken care of and back in action.
