We have a critter around here called a pine squirrel. Tiny little red tree rats. I shot a bunch of them the first year up here and tired to cook them. Oh my goodness they were terrible. But you have to keep them thinned out too. They love to get into buildings and they tear havoc out of insulation, wires, etc. I had one chew right through the fascia of the woodworking building. He then got into the attic and made a heck of a mess. But he made the mistake of sitting in a tree next to the building for too long.. and that was the end of that problem. And bird feeders.. they will chew right through the plastic of the bird feeders to get to the seeds.
