What we do on our moose is split everything equal including myself.
I own all the gear, including Woods 16' x18' Prospector Tent, woodstove, guide series 3 burner stove, lanterns, everything but there sleeping bags and cot.
If you can' t supply your own cot and a warm sleeping bag then you shouldn' t be hunting period. These type of people should be staying in hotels and probably like to hunt from the seat of a warm truck which is not what i' m into.
I pull the gear with my own truck and trailer and I split everything equal. Everyone hands me 100-200 bucks at the beginning of the trip and it goes into an envelope for gas or whatever we all need. If anything is needed it comes out of the envelope and if more is needed we all put the same amount in to top it up fare and square.
I don' t expect a free hunt just because I own everything, i' ll pay my own way just make sure we all do in the end.
When we get back a oil change and clean-up of the truck also comes out of the envelope then we square up whats left evenly.

Works for me and never any problems.
