Yea, I've learned to look at spurs much closer. Last year I was cutting the spurs off of a 23 lb eastern I shot. I had the saw half-way through the leg bone when I noticed something similar to yours. I almost cut a small spur off. After much closer inspection, my tom had one of these above and below the spurs on both legs. My turkey ONLY had SIX spurs. I pay closer attention to my spurs now.
