It is too early and too cold for wife to go fishing, but the Journal kept reporting the fishing was better than excellent, so we bit.

The closest part of Oahe to our house, is the Cheyenne River Arm. That is where we fished. We fished with jigs. To me, it seemed kinda strange to have such good fishing in the middle of the spawn. The males were leaking all over the boat, and wow, they were on the bite. Hopefully, fishing will be good a little later when it is warmer.

Some are concerned that too many smelt may have washed away in last summer's high water, and as a result fishing will suffer in the near future. Last week fishing was great! Even though the boat is some small for the size of Oahe, we managed, and hope to manage again and again and..........................

I have tried and tried and tried for years to get wife to buy me a Pro-V. When we returned home i suggested we may need a bigger boat. What she did was go and purchase herself a better rain coat; remarking, "this is less expensive, and negates the need for a bigger boat".
