Our season always start during the first week of May and runs until the first week of June as a rule. The area I have been hunting is full of tall grass before my season ends. I try to locate where the turkeys are hanging around at. Then I try to find a spot in the woods near the area. I would setup where I can see the edge of the field but still back around 30 yards or so. When locating the turkeys I have found the ones with the longest tails (from a distance) appear to be the toms. You will still need to get them in close enough to be able to see the beards how ever when hunting them.. I hope this helps you some..
