Default Crushribs it is!

Twice last week I shot sabot comparisons at the range & made my final decision in what to shoot through my K. Mountaineer for deer and elk. I tried HHP HP12s and 24s, T/C yellow shockwave 2-petal and black crushribs with Barnes 250 gr. TEZ bullets using three 50 gr. pellets of T7. I could never bring the grouping together more than 6-9" at 200 yds. with the HHPs, and the T/Cs hit far too high with not that great a group either. The Crushribs produced 2-3" consistently. I did have to raise the scope by 7 clicks to compensate for the drop due to the lower pressure (from about 2040 fps to 1936 fps) of these looser-fitting sabots, but the accuracy at 200 yds was awesome!

I also did David Petzl' Buffalo Ballistics penetration-frame test on this load. I recovered all five bullets, which opened at least 75%. Penetration was 12"-14" and passed just beyond the second piece of OSB (rib bone imitation) The petals of those Barnes bullets are like a whirling saw blade. Talk about doing some serious damage. Interestingly, all 4 of the T/C Shockwave bullets passed straight through the 21" frame. Obviously they are not expanding. I have heard those bullets are very hard and do not expand well. Any experience or comments?
