RE: Primers falling out
Clyby,
There isn' t any retaining ring or system at all on the Knight, you just insert the primer into the hole in the breech plug and press firmly. I can now see why a metal primer in a metal hole would not make for great holding power. I would imagine others have had problems with the knights having the pullback style hammer assembly.
Triple Se7en,
The full plastic jackets aren' t compatable with the regular 209 primer breech plug and hammer. I did order the 209 " etxreme" conversion kit for my rifle however to convert it to using the plastic jackets. Hopefully these will stay in place better. There still won' t be a bolt holding them in place however and I would recommend to anybody looking for a new muzzleloader to get one with a bolt or closing breech that will hold the primer in place to eliminate this problem.
