Also, I usually use a rebel minnow and a strike king bitsy crank for crappie and perch, but I tried out a new plastic lure and have had great success with it lately, not just yesterday. Its a straight tail 2" lure. The tail has TONS of action and I have been basically doing an ultra slow steady retrieve (1 turn ever 5-7 seconds) with constant little shakes of the rod tip.
