Well i have been hunting a lot here in pa and i have only had one shot at a small doe. my luck finally changed on sat night when i decided to hunt a totally different area( the very top of the mountain). around 615, 4 doe showed up and i stopped the largest one at 30 yards in a shooting lane. i was really shaking cause this was my first real deer shot that i would get this year. i shoot and i see that the arrow hits way far back right away. i watch her run and she only runs about 40 yards and falls over. i give her about an hour and call my friends to help me get her out of there. i start to walk up to her and she gets up and stands there. i had my bow but i had no way to hold the light and shoot again. she takes off running and i hear her crash about 40 yards more. i was thinking that she had to be more than gut shot to be bedded down and not running far. my friends get there and we find the blood trail and walk up to her and she gets up but she can' t go really far now and now i have someone to hold a light and we put her down. when i start to gut her out, i def gut shot her but the way she was angled, the arrow went through the lower part of the leg, opening an artery or vein or something. but still i am lucky that i got her. next time i will take my time a little more and put her down in one shot.
