Default Lyman Flinter : poor QC

I went to put the Flintlock together today, so I could sight it in tomorrow. It has a sticker on the box that says the stock and barrel have been inspected for defects. Whoever inspected it didnt do a very good job. The nose cap is very loose. The screws holding the escutcheon are long enough that the barrel cannot be put on the stock without filing them off first as they stick to far through into the stocks barrel channel. No big deal on those two things but what really bothers me is the stock has a crack that runs fronm the nose cap to the first escutcheon. . I imagine I could glue it and clamp it til it dries but not sure if I want to. I have other Lymans and they were all good. This is the first . Only the crack bothers me. I bought it through a distributor so I dont know if I should fix it and forget it, contact them or contact Lyman. Since it has the inspection sticker I have a feeling Lyman may claim it wasnt like that when it left the factory. Guess I wont be shooting it tomorrow after all
