This sight location isn't really 'forward' so very much. It might be 5/8" ahead of where the X7 sight would be, when mounted in the rear holes. It is further away from the front sight than the X7 peep is. Initially it was mounted using the 2 rear holes, but that placed the peep hole above the falling block. It seemed OK there. I am near positive it would have worked just fine mounted in the rear holes. During the night i awoke and thought about possible interference loading/unloading primer, and a chance for the left/right adjustment screw becoming fouled.
