Scimitar Oryx / Addax hunts



USFWS has released new regulations for Scimitar Horned Oryx, Addax, and Dama Gazelle. These species will require a CITES permit for hunting after April 4, 2012. The permitting process has proven to be a monumental pain for landowners.

Many ranchers are liquidating their herds of these animals before the new permit bill goes into affect April 4th of this year.

If you would like to hunt Scimitar Horned Oryx or Addax there has never been a better time and you will see by these prices never at a better price.

I am offering these special hunts through an outfitter who I have personally been doing business with for over 8 years and have sent 100's of hunters to him so I can absolutely verify his quality of service.

The hunts will be setup on different ranches located in Blanco, Kerrville, Utopia and possibly one other ranch depending on where the animals are located at the time of the hunt and the size of animal each particular hunter is wanting. The ranch in Blanco is 300 acres and the rest are larger.

Dates at this time are pretty much open but we are receiving a tremendous amount of inquiries about this hunt and all hunts have to be completed by the deadline so if your truly interested do not hesitate. Prices for hunts are below and I seriously doubt you will be able to beat the daily rate or the trophy fees anywhere:

Daily fee options:
$100 per day guide fee to hunt no matter what
$150 per day with meals and lodging.

Trophy Fees:

Meat Oryx (broken horn or younger animals) - $850
Mature Cow Oryx (average 34"-38"....over 40" possible) - $1,350
Mature Bull Oryx (mid 30"- $1,300)
Mature Bull Oryx (HI 30's up to 40") - $1,450
Mature Bull Oryx (over 40"....limited availability) - $1,950

Addax $2,000-$2750 depending on size wanted
Addax will average low to mid 30s. They have held back some high 30" and 40" Addax for hunters interested in high end animals.
