CVA BH209 Plug
Must be the day for breech plugs LOL.
I installed the new CVA BH209 plug in the Wolf today as i haven't tested them yet. Installation was easy as screwing it in and then seating it with the provided tool.
Adjusted my head space out .012" with the CCI 209 Magnum primers and as usual, zero blow by.
Breech threads were dry and clean with no sign of blow by. Primer pocket was obviously clean as well.
One huge difference i noticed after i shot 7 rounds was that i only found one granule of BH209 in the bore that looked unburnt.
Time for cleaning, i ran one snug fitting cloth both down the bore and typically with the old flat style plug, I would find some thicker build up which required a little more scrubbing in that area.
Today that build up was zero.
Accuracy of the Wolf was outstanding as usual, but my POI did change to about 1.5" low and few inches to the right. Not a drastic change, but enough to throw you off if you were to just install the plug and go hunting.
Cleaning the hollowed out area was easy with some hot water and my nylon breech plug brush, it actually came out extremely easy with no hard scrubbing needed.
So in the end, it fired just like with the original plug but cleaner in the bore towards the face of the plug.
