I've used Van's to touch up a Sako Forester barrel with pretty good results. Could not completely match the deep blue of the Sako barrel but was not really expecting to. But it is holding up well. Follow the online instructions (degrease, heat up the metal with a blow dryer, etc.) and you should be fairly happy.
