I haven't used the G96 stuff pluckit. I agree with you on the Birchwood Casey stuff. Tried it years ago and was not impressed. I

have a bottle of Brownells Formula 44/40 Instant Gun Blue that I use for small touch ups and to blue sights and such. It works very well for me on small spots. But I haven't tried it on anything large like an entire trigger guard or barrel.
