RE: Winchester Model 1300 Defender
I bought my defender as a home defense weapon, and as such it is awesome. Eight rounds of 12 gauge buckshot is a lot of force. Only a lunatic would dare go up against it if given a choice and another way out.
A few times, I have used it for grouse hunting and it has been OK for such up close hunting....but for general hunting use I would probably choose something with a slightly longet barrel and a tighter choke. It is cylinder bore. I just don' t think it swings too well. The name " Defender" really speaks about the intended usage of this shotgun.
