I hope we never have the European style hunting. It's a pay to hunt experience in many countries.
In Germany, it's a pay to hunt, and the landowner keeps the horns situation as well. At least in many areas. My cousin really wanted to do some stag hunting until he found out that the hunting "season" is a limited slot system where you get a few days to be successful, and the tradition is to let the landowner keep the horns. He would have gotten any meat, but he was more interested in the horns for a once in a lifetime hunt.
It's not what I want to experience. I love going up north, and meandering around the northwoods. It's public land, and I can have a lot of relaxation time for no cost. I keep what I kill, and life is good.
